Happy Fall Ya'll! Here in Texas, we've finally had a few cooler mornings and evenings, which inspired me to start adding a few Fall touches to our home. I really don't do much decorating specifically for Fall, but try to bring some additional warmth and texture into some of our main spaces with little vignettes, while still working with the blues we have throughout the house. Here's a little peek into a few corners of our home to see the added touches. Front Porch Cowhide tray, mini white pumpkins and a white pumpkin candle in the Living Room White pumpkins and a little dose of orange to warm up the kitchen Life starts over print and a fresh flower for a dose of warm color added to our coffee corner Hydrangeas, rustic orb, blue glass vase and a mason jar with collected acorns and a tea light (put together by my son- stager in training) create a centerpiece for our dining table

Annually, our team, The Austin Regional Chapter of Home Staging Professionals seeks out a service project in an effort to give back to our community. This year, we were excited to partner with Texas Advocacy Project to help a deserving family who has escaped domestic violence. We choose to make over several rooms in their home and added on an unexpected surprise at the end. We worked with some of the family's existing furnishings and added in some of our own selections purchased through donations to make this project a success. We kept the existing paint and shelving and purchased a bed, bedding, artwork and rug to turn the former playroom into a bedroom for the oldest boy who had previously been sharing a bed and bedroom with his two younger brothers. He requested orange bedding, plays soccer and LOVES his new room! There is even a trundle for sleepovers! Back in the shared room for the younger boys, two existing twin beds were bunked to create more floor space, We also purchased and painted a dresser to replace the older. broken one. With the final touches- new bedding, sheets, a rug, lamp and a few superhero accents, the boys have a new space that reflects their personalities. The Girls' shared room had great furniture and a beautiful DIY handpainted flowers on the walls. Fresh white bedding, sheets with purple and pink horses, fluffy pillows and a few new stuffed animals gave this room a fresh new look. Mom and Dad's only requests for their room were new lighter weight bedding and a TV for their room. The TV was installed (not pictured) and the fresh white bedding and new accent pillows made the room look so much larger. The final surprise was our donation of OVER 150 handbags! Our homeowner/survivor initiated the Handbags for Hope program for the Texas Advocacy Project. The purses collected are discreetly outfitted with the phone number to a hotline for victims of domestic violence. The bags are then distributed to area shelters and handed out to women seeking help from abuse. After seeing the changes inside the home and finding out about our truck full of purses being donated to Handbags for Hope on her behalf, our homeowner was brought to tears and so were we! Thank you to all who contributed to this project!
